In a previous section, we explored Heutagogy and the authors feels this skillset is fundamental to experiential learning and career resilience. In the workforce, enhancing this skill allows team members to improve their quality of work and course correct based on feedback from customers, markets and performance reviews.
Self-directed learners are often well-suited to experiential learning, as they are motivated to take an active role in their education and seek out opportunities to learn through hands-on experiences.
Experiential learning provides a dynamic and engaging learning environment that allows self-directed learners to pursue their interests and goals in a more flexible and customizable way. By engaging in activities that challenge them to think critically, problem-solve, and collaborate with others, self-directed learners can develop the skills and mindset needed to succeed in a rapidly changing world.

Lessons learned from 2014
It all began with an Idea to help students understand the value of collaboration and working as a team. In 2014, we were honored to be a part of pilot which began to shape our thinking on the value of self directed learning and how this skill prepares the next generation for opportunities that don’t exist yet.

What if…?
This program is curated with Peer Exchange & Ideation in mind. Beginning with Ideation, students go through several stages, which include understanding the value and pushback of contrarian views in RED TEAM. Then we work towards mapping out how the idea would actually take shape through LEAN CANVAS, and finally PITCH DAY .Working with fellow students we look to see who will be actually want to put their money into seeing this idea come to fruition.
